On December 25, 2024, Pakistani jets conducted a series of airstrikes targeting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) alleged hideouts in Barmal area of Paktika province of Afghanistan. The main target was the TTP media team, Umar Media, specifically the TTP Minister for Information and Announcements, Chaudry Muneeb ur Rehman Jatt. Additionally, other targets included Majlis-e-Askari Karwan supreme commander, Akhtar Khalil Muhammad Mansoor, a close associate of Hafiz Gul Bahadur (HGB) group, also known as Tehreek-e-Taliban Ghazwatul Hind (TTG).
